Action’s founder Lisa  Russell has lived and worked with dogs since the age of ten.   In 1983 she completed her military service commitment with the USAF as a Law Enforcement Canine Handler. She returned to her hometown Jacksonville, Fl.  in 1984 where she opened Actions Dog Training. The past 39 years Lisa has worked with thousands of dogs, many individually, others in large groups as seen on our service page. Lisa is best known for her knowledge and ability to evaluate canine behavior, teach owners how to understand their dog’s behavior and get results.  During her career she has trained dogs for a variety of purposes such as narcotic and arson detection dogs. Provided dogs for the television show “America’s Most Wanted” and dogs for service and therapy work. She’s made appearances on local radio shows, written articles about dogs for local news papers. and in 2000 opened the first and cage free dog day & night care facility in Northeast Florida. She is a Federal Expert Witness about Canine Detection. She became a UKC Nosework judge in 2016. An AKC Scent Work Expert Judge in 2017, and in the same year AKC scent work contractor. In 2019 accepted the position, manager of the scent work program for the American Kennel Club. Despite the long and devers career Lisa has had, she most enjoys seeing her students achieve their goals."I want my students to learn how to establish a profound bond with their dog.
